i wrote today.

finally.

i wrote three poems, and started a new play. i will probably post the poems, soon as i type them into my computer. you know, for all to see.

it feels good to write again. i like writing because it makes me feel like a made a positive contribution to my world. not THE world, MY world. big difference.

i feel in the mood to showcase my poetry. maybe i'll go on a coffee house tour. maybe.

Essay #1

Passion – the necessary drive that'll make you wake up in the morning, mine being: acting, writing, and a general objection for unconscionable thought. My art is derived from the world that is crumbling before me.

I use acting as my escape from the reality of our status-driven world. The world of theatrical arts is place where limitations are not levied upon, and the freedom of creativity is at the utmost of importance. I'm thankful for subjecting myself to such changes in personification, as it has allowed me to break free from the standard self in which I have come accustomed to.

After meeting so many colorful characters through acting, I found myself creating my own characters, stories and situations through writing. This opened a whole new venue in which to escape from the continuously angering everyday life. Writing gave me a chance to take from the real world, distort it, and give a diverse view.

Through acting and writing, I found a sanctum to both escape and analyze the ignorant people and questionable events of our world. A world in which allows a man to make twenty-five million dollars a year for hitting a baseball, while a man on the other side is lucky to get a cup of muddy water for his slavery.

In all of this, I step back and ponder if a "thank you" should be bestowed upon these ill-bred simpletons for driving the angst into me, thus causing me to create such fortifying art. But then I take another step back, and bite my tongue for thinking such a thought.

i would like to share two poems with you. none of which came from mind or pen of yours truly, but rather an outside source. a man named logan kincade. he is what i would call a simplicity poet. not simple, as in dumb or unintelligent. simple as in 'he makes it sound so simple'. which i like. because life is simple. we just fail to understand that most of the time.
